Hello!
Final Project
Moments Photography
In this assignment, we are required to write a photojournalism during this MCO period. We need to prepare 10 photos and write a rationale of around 500 words.

WHAT IS PHOTOJOURNALISM
Photojournalism is an area of photography dedicated to taking accurate shots of current events. Photojournalism can be an art form in its own right. Scene composition, choices of angles and lens choices all determine the impact and power of the resulting shots.

Challenges & Solutions
This final project is super exciting and meaningful. Initially, I was struggling to choose between 2 topics : food delivery riders or the old street. After seeking guidance from Ms. Sabrina and Mr. Paul, I decided to begin my hunting week —— searching for the food delivery riders! It sounds like a secret mission, isn't it?
Almost every day I go out with my dad to look for the riders. The most challenging part is to take candid photographs without being noticed (or causing trouble) , and due the fact that I take photographs through the car window, it is very difficult for me to get a nice and clear picture. Most of the time I got blurry photos or I missed the golden timing to capture the right moment. The only way to solve this problem is to get ready at every moment, holding my phone near to the window and press the shutter button continuously whenever food delivery riders pass by.
To get pictures that tell stories, I even went out during rainy day. I rolled down the car window so that I can shot the photograph of two riders resting in the McDonald's in the evening. Well, getting wet is not a big deal as long as I got a cool picture!
After collecting enough photographs, I used Snapseed and Adobe Lightroom to edit them. It is time to filter out unwanted images. Firstly, I cropped and rotated some images to get a nice composition. After that, I desaturated all photographs to enhance the mood and create the underlying sense of brooding. I am also figuring out my own editing style in the process.
For the essay part, I listed down the overall structure and get feedbacks from my lecturers before I start writing. I also did references from articles or news in the Internet and jotted down important points that I can include in my essay to convince my readers. Through this assignment, I realized that being a food delivery rider is not as simple as it looks like. It is not just receiving orders and sending the food to the customers' house. They have to face a lot of struggles that we could not imagine. I hope that everyone can be more understanding and patient towards them, respect and appreciate their efforts because there is no easy job in this world. Thanks to this assignment, I learnt to look this job from a different perspective.
To be honest, this final project is the most effort-taking assignment I have been working on, from taking photos to writing the photojournalism. I kept editing the images until the last day before due date because when I looked back my work, I felt a bit unsatisfied with the mood in the photographs. So, I reedited some of the photos and also adjust the sequences. At the end, I am quite happy with the final touch of this photography series and ready to submit.
This 7 weeks is definitely a fruitful journey for me. I am grateful to meet these two amiable lecturers : Mr. Paul and Ms. Sabrina who have guided me throughout the lessons. I would like to show my gratitude towards my lecturers : Thank you for putting extra time to give feedbacks on our work so that we can give our best presentation. Thank you for being the two best lecturers that a student could ever hope for.
